Once again it’s all Souls Day, Filipino traditions to visit their love ones in the cemetery to show some respect and say prayers for their souls.

I left Cebu last October 31, 2009 (Saturday) via MV Maasin of Cokaliong Shipping at 7pm in the evening together with my daughter and nieces from Manila.  We brought candles a lot of fresh flowers of different kinds and colors although it’s quite expensive because of the season and some requested things to be brought.  We arrive safely in the port of Surigao City, meet by my two nephews Francis and R J we arrived my hometown at around ten in the morning.

In the afternoon we went to Capayahan Public Cemetery together with my nieces, nephews and some cousins.  We visited the tomb of my Grand Mother Julia and my uncle Rudy.   My memories flashes in my mind the moments we were together during important occasions  I know my uncle loves to drink and smoke continuously as if there’s no tomorrow but I believe he was happy man with  a loving wife and children.

We drop by at Sungkoy Cold Spring to take a deep it was a refreshing moment, with the fresh cold water of the natural spring from the mountain, we linger for a moment until we feel good, refresh and satisfied.

The following morning November 2   my mom and sis del together with her daughter went  ahead to attend the Holy Mass in Tubod Public Cemetery by nine in the morning for the dead Souls.  Luckily we have already  put in place the beautifully arranged flowers early morning, which  everybody painstakingly help to make it presentable, the night before.

We all went to the cemetery my sis, nieces, nephews and some cousins , it’s quite a festive mood it was a sunny day and the atmosphere is a little bit warmer the girls are keep on using the fan, people are in hurry bringing candles and flowers eager to see the tomb of their love ones.  I saw familiar faces because my town is quite a small place everybody knows everybody, I was even surprise and sad to know that some of our neighbors and friends had just passed away recently,  I guess  I feel a little bit older seeing all my relatives, friends and people I know, they seems to become matured with lots of gray hair and undeniably wrinkles of their faces. So sad, accepting the reality in life  that beauty is just a skin deep and nothing is permanent in this world.
